UNITED HEALTHCARE CEO SECURITY QUESTIONS

In the aftermath of the tragic shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, questions arise as to why a company of that size would not have personal security assigned to their top executives. As reported on FOX Business, “What stands out most to me is the inability to provide him security in New York City while he’s going to give a speech to many mad stockholders and possibly mad clients of the health care company,” Klein Investigations CEO Philip Klein said Friday on “Fox & Friends First.”

It has been reported that there had been personal threats of Thompson over the last few weeks leading up to the shareholder meetings in New York City. Besides the personal threats, UnitedHealthcare is under scrutiny by the Department of Justice regarding the nation’s largest insurer and if it was unfairly restricting competitors and running a monopoly.

Did Thompson refuse security if offered by UnitedHealthcare? Did they ever offer security or insist a detail be assigned to Thompson while in New York City for their meetings? As a Top 20 company it appears the ball may have been dropped and you have to wonder if they had anyone aware of the possible dangers for their top executives.
